 “The Australian Government has commenced the process of phasing-out inefficient lamps. The phase-out will eliminate from the Australian marketplace both conventional GLS lamps and lower efficiency low voltage tungsten halogen lamps. These types of lamp are used predominantly in dwellings and to a lesser extent in commercial and industrial buildings. From 1 February 2009 the importation of a range of inefficient incandescent lamps was prohibited and from November 2009 they will be banned from sale” – Source Lighting Council Australia (www.lightingcouncil.com.au)
